Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026
Beast Brawl is a math facts game for kids, run by Kyle Horne, doing business as Beast Brawl Math ("we" or "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices parents have. We tried to write it in plain language.
The short version
- A parent or guardian creates the family account. Kids play under it.
- We keep each kid's practice results so the Brain Map can show their progress. That's what the game is for.
- No ads, no ad trackers, no chat with strangers. We never sell or rent anyone's information.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see card numbers.
- Parents can see, change or delete their family's information at any time.
What we collect
From parents and guardians
To make an account: your email address, a password, and, if you like, your name. Your password is stored scrambled by our sign-in provider, and we can't see it.
If you start the free week or a plan: Stripe, through its checkout service Link, collects your payment details and billing address to charge you and work out sales tax. We get back only your plan's status (like "free week" or "yearly plan"), its end or renewal date, and a Stripe customer number.
About kids (players)
For each player: a name the family chooses (we suggest a first name or a nickname, never a full name), a buddy picture, practice settings (adding, times, or both), and what happens in the game: which math facts were answered, right or wrong, how fast, rounds played, coins, stars, animals unlocked and fights watched.
We don't ask kids for an email address, phone number, home address, photo or location. The game has no chat, and kids can't post anything for others to see.
Automatically
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records basic technical details when a page loads, such as the IP address, browser type and time, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use them to profile anyone.
The game saves your sign-in and sound settings in your browser's own storage so you stay signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use analytics services.
The free game, no account needed
Progress in the free game at /try is saved only in that browser on that device. It isn't sent to us. If you later start a free week on the same device, the players from the free game come along to your new account.
How we use it
- To run the game: signing in, saving progress across devices, the Brain Map and progress charts, and picking which facts to practice next.
- To run the family plan: checking whether a free week or plan is active, and showing its status.
- To keep Beast Brawl safe and working, and to answer your questions.
We don't use anyone's information for advertising, and we don't build marketing profiles.
Who we share it with
Only with companies that run parts of Beast Brawl for us, and only so they can do that job:
- Supabase stores account and game information and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts and runs the website.
- Stripe, including its Link service, sells and processes the family plan as the seller of record, including fraud checks and sales tax. Stripe's privacy policy covers the payment information it collects.
If read-aloud is turned on, your browser speaks the fight story with its own speech feature. Some browsers use an online voice service from the browser's maker for this. It only gets the story text (animal names and moves), never player names or progress.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if the business is sold, in which case the new owner must keep the promises in this policy. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Children's privacy
Beast Brawl is made for kids, so we follow the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A parent or guardian creates the account, provides the player information and controls it. We collect from kids only what the game needs (their answers and progress), and none of it is public. Parents can, at any time:
- See their kids' information on the Brain Map, or ask us for a copy.
- Change player names and settings, or reset progress, in the game.
- Delete a player in the game (Brain Map, then Grown-ups). This deletes that player's progress and history.
- Delete the whole family account by emailing kywheel@gmail.com.
- Stop us collecting a kid's information. Deleting their player does this.
If you think a child gave us personal information without a parent's okay, email kywheel@gmail.com and we'll delete it.
How long we keep it
As long as the family account is open. If a plan ends, we keep your kids' progress so it's there if you come back, unless you ask us to delete it. When you delete a player or the account, we remove the information from our systems within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as payment records held by Stripe.
Keeping it safe
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored scrambled. Database rules make sure each family can see only its own information. No system is perfectly secure, so if something goes wrong, we'll tell affected families as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your family's information. Depending on where you live, such as California, you may have more rights, like knowing what we collect. We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted ads. Email kywheel@gmail.com to use any of these rights, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell parents by email or in the game before they take effect.
